Delivering scientific innovation for autism llc (delsia) was established as an independent not-for-profit venture philanthropy affiliate of autism speaks. our vision is to transform outcomes for individuals with autism by ensuring that scientific breakthroughs are developed into products that deliver meaningful improvements in the quality of life and health. delsia works with partners in the for-profit sector to identify and fund development activities best poised to deliver products aligned with unmet medical and behavioral health needs of the autism community. delsia will work directly with a variety of for-profit entities to achieve its goals of bringing new products to market, including but not limited to: 1) entrepreneurs and start-up companies 2) computer/electronic technology companies 3) software developers 4) biotechnology and life sciences companies 5) pharmaceutical companies large and small delsia is primarily focused on, but not limited to, development opportunities in the following target product categories: 1) medical products (biomarkers, diagnostics, medicines, therapeutic devices). 2) assistive technologies (software, applications for tablet platforms like the ipad) 3) enabling technology: products and services required to facilitate the development process(es) required to bring new medical product through regulatory approval.
