Avon lake city schools serve approximately 3,600 students in grades k-12 with 250 teachers. avon lake city schools consist of seven buildings: avon lake high school (grades 9-12) learwood middle school (grades 7-8) troy intermediate school (grades 5-6) eastview elementary school (grades k-4) erieview elementary school (grades k-4) redwood elementary school (leaps and grades k-4) westview elementary school (grades k-4) the ultimate goal of the avon lake city schools is increased achievement for all students through district efforts and initiatives. as a result of student performance for the 2007-2008 school year, the avon lake city schools earned a performance accountability rating of "excellent with distinction" on the state of ohio district report card having met 30 of 30 performance indicators.
