The blue gate hospitality group is owned and operated by the riegsecker family; and located in the third largest amish community in america! the business was started by mel riegsecker in the garage of his home in 1980, where he made miniature horse-drawn carriages, buggies and other vehicles for sale. the company has since grown into blue gate hospitality; with 8 operating businesses including the blue gate restuarant & bakery, the blue gate theatre, shipshewana craft barn, shipshewana furniture co., traditions by shipshewana furniture, blue gate tours, blue gate carriage company, and the blue gate garden inn. shipshewana is a tourist destination, and blue gate is right in the middle of it! blue gate hospitality strives for excellence in all aspects of the company, including providing guests with a unique and wonderful experience in amish country.
