After over 10 years of designing gardens as landscape:evolution i decided to have a rebrand - i design gardens and my name is ian farbon so it seems pretty logical to simply design as ian farbon garden design. the enthusiasm remains the same - i've moved out of cambridge and work from my studio in the village of spaldwick, about half way between huntingdon and kimbolton. much of my work centres around there - i still design anywhere in cambridgeshire but i now find work coming in from bedfordshire and northamptonshire as well. i design all types of gardens - from contemporary urban courtyards to wide open rural landscapes. budgets vary from project to project but generally start from £10,000 depending on the size and complexity of the project. i use a select number of landscape contractors and usually administer the project from concept to completion. i meet my clients to discuss the project and write a brief and fee proposal - the design involves several sketch options, one of which evolves into the design masterplan. the finished plan allows the contractors to put together a comprehensive quotation for the build. then we build it!
